Iowa State Prison to Close Bible Program

An Iowa prison has been ordered to close it's Bible program and repay the state over one million dollars. Details here.

The InnerChange Freedom Initiative was implemented in Newton in 1999. State prison officials have said they hired the religious group to improve inmate behavior and reduce recidivism — not promote Christianity.

Give me a break, ok? I'm not trying to sound like a snot, but give me a break. You hire a Christian oranization, full of Christians, and then expect them not to promote Christianity? Someone is either half asleep on the job, or needs their head examined.
